The first DVD was developed in 1995 and released in 1996. As well as the world's first DVD player, the Toshiba SD-3000. The DVD was invented by two groups of companies, Sony Corporation and Philips Electronics NV and the other by Toshiba Corporation and Time Warner Inc. The creators of the two formats compromised and adapted each others aspects to creat DVD’s. DVD’s allow you to watch movies or shows with a DVD player on any TV or compatible computers.
