We purchased one for the family and would write basic codes from books and record them to tapes. This was a start for my love for technology and problem solving.

During college I purchased my first laptop. No more trips to the computer lab at school.

The internet had be available at school and other public locations, but this was the first time I had dialup for my apartment at school.

After creating drawings and design work by hand for several years, computer based design work made things much easier. Programs such as autocad computer aided drafting and adobe photoshop were life changing. These tools have also been what I have been teaching for the last several years.

My first Ipad and specifically the ability to write and draw on the screen was important for its ability to create artwork for work and educational use. These portable devices made it possible for me to work away from my desktop and made life more mobile. More recent versions have enhanced learning in the classroom too. image credit:
