Charles Babbage: The first computer
Charles Babbage was an English mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer. Babbage is often considered to be the "father of the computer" since he developed the Difference engine, a calculating machine designed in the 1832 which became the basic framework that computers today are based on. Charles Babbage invented several machines but he never finished any of them. -
Grace Hopper
Grace hopper was born on the 9th of december 1906. She was a American computer scientist and navy admiral. She was a pioneer developing computer technology, she helped to develop the UNIVAC I which was the first commercial electronic computer and made the FLOW-MATIC programming language which she later extended to COBOL, a early high-level programming language that is still used today, almost 70 years later. -
IBM
IBM or International Business Machines Corporation is an American technology company which oporates in over 170 countries. Founded by Charles Ranlett Flint in 1911, the company was made to produce and sell computer hardware and software and is today the best known computer company in the world. -

ENIAC or the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer was the first programmable general purpose digital computer. it was able to solve many numerical problems through reprogramming. it was original made for helping the US Army but was found to be very useful to others as well. -
Spacewar!
Spacewar! is often assumed to be the first computer game. It was developed by Steve Russell and some other programmers in 1962. It was first wrtten for the DEC PDP-1 minicomputer and was then later expanded to more recent platforms. Spacewar! is one of the most important games in the history of video games, it became very popular in the early programming community and influenced many other to make their own games. The entertainment would later bring more attention to the computer world. -
E-mail
The modern E-mail system that we know today is often seen as an invention of Ray Tomlinson. in 1972, when Tomlinson was working as a ARPANET he chose to use the @ symbol to signal the messages from one computer to another. It would begin to grow rapidly over the next couple if years. -
Altair Basic
The Altair BASIC is a very old interpreter made by Microsoft for the BASIC programming language. It was ran on the MITS Altair 8800. This was Bill Gates first invention in Microsoft and he is now considered to be one of the best known entrepreneurs of the microcomputer revolution. Between 1997 and 2017 he held the title of the richest person in the world. -
Apple
On the first of April 1976 Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. That same year they released the company's first product, the Apple I. The Apple I is a computer that was designed and hand build by the company owner Steve Wozniak. the company would later come to be the largest technology company by revenue ever. -
Java
Java was created at Sun, Microsystems Inc. where James Gosling led a group of engineers that would develop this new language. The development started in 1991 and Java would be released in 1995. this language would allow consumer electronic devises to communicate with each other. The difference between Java and the previous languages was revolutionary, it's way easier to use and could be utilized in many more ways than the previous languages. -
