Computer
It was at this time that Charles Babbage first proposed the idea that would later become the computer. He proposed the idea for the Difference Engine, and later the Analytical Engine, which is very similar to computers built 150 years later, and even to computers now. -
Flat-screen Monitor
Up until this point, monitors used to be extremely large and heavy, but now they are very flat because of new LED technology, which shines lights through polarizers and colored filters to make a much faster, higher quality, and more flat computing experience. -
Mobile Phone
On April 3rd, 1973, Motorola produced the first mobile phone. This is a big step, as we now have basically mini-computers that sit in our pockets all day, when computers used to take up whole rooms. -
Laptop Computer
At this point, computers have gotten a lot more complicated, and have gotten significantly smaller. They used to take up entire rooms and weigh thousands of pounds, but now you can fit one in your lap. -
Windows
Not to be confused with the glass birds keep flying into, Windows was revolutionary in the world of operating systems. It is fast, reliable, and relatively easy to use. This made it spread to being the most used operating system by a lot.
