    On April 3, 2010, the first generation of the iPad was released in the U.S. The tablet's first prototype was created in 2004 by designer Jonathan Ive and Apple founder Steve Jobs. The iPad was the first time Apple used their own processor, the A4. By May 3rd, the iPad had sold over 1 million units and was outselling iMacs by the end of the year.

    On July 16, 2010, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger create the photo sharing app that would soon be a multi-billion dollar application used by over 500 million people. Instagram started as an app for users to share photos with people around the world. Good or bad, Instagram has changed social media as a whole.

    Acer and Samsung launched the first Chromebooks in 2011, offering a range of laptops at a lower prince. These laptops only offer the basics and internet access, making them perfect for students. These laptops are widely seen in schools today.

    The Amazon Echo speaker began development in 2011, but wasn't released until 2014. The Amazon Echo, created by Amazon CEO/ founder Jeff Bezos, changed the game of Smart Home technology, and allowed people to control the device with just their voice. Though it has been under a lot of scrutiny over the years with users claiming a lack of privacy, the line of Amazon Echo/Alexa devices remain a staple in many modern households.
