    This computer was constructed in 1951 and was labeled the 1st "general purpose" computer. It was first distributed to Manchester University by Ferranti Mark.

    In 1953, John von Neumann, a world famous mathematician, created the Johnniac computer. An ongoing expansive computer, this piece of technology inspired the ability for multiple users to access and operate the machine simultaneously.

    1956 would be the year the first keyboard input operation was explored. Prior, punch cards or paper tape were the ways operators would communicate with devices. This sparked the convenience factor keyboards allowed computer users.

    Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce produced the first microchip in the year 1958. Known as the ancestor of todays microchips, it would go on to cultivate the chips used in technology such as calculators and our portable electronic devices.
