Google Classroom
The remaining five teachers in grades 2-5 who have yet to use Google Classroom, now have active accounts and will use Google Classroom for an upcoming assignment via pofessional development with Equity Coach. -
Dismantled Computer Lab
The archaic computer lab will start to be dismantled and replaced by a STEAM space A Capri STEAM Team, whose role it is to mold the district and site's vision, and put that into action, is created. A $5000 grant from CUSD will be used as seed money to create a usable space for students to enhance their learning by linking it to their current studies in a thematic fashion. -
Google Classroom
All classroom teachers in grades 2-5) are proficient in the use of Google Classroom. It has become an expectation with supoprts in place. Site-based professional development continues on a monthly basis with the support of Capri's Equity Coach and a second teacher-leader. It is differentiated for teachers based upon admin observations and teacher requests. -
Fully Functional STEAM Space
The Capri STEAM Space is fully operational. Students may visit to put what they're learning into action With an array of technology and art, such as microscopes, scales, solar panels, filters, batteries, art tools, and 3-D printers, thematic units that tie learning from multiple curricular areas are brought to life for students. The Capri STEAM Team continues to monitor and modify. Considerations include staffing it with a paid employee or creating an Adjunct Duty. -
Paperless(ish) at 50%
The word "textbook "is becoming obsolete. 50% of assessed assignments are shared via Google Classroom in grades 3-5, while second grade students are learning the processes by which students are expected to use technology as the basis to create, collaborate, share, and prove learning rather than an extraneous tool to glamorize it. -
1:1 Take Home Capability
Students in grades 2-5 have the ability to check out their Chromebooks. While not all have internet capabilty from their homes, MyFi is provided for equity. -
Paperless(ish) at 90%
The word "textbook" is obsolete. 90% of assessed assignments are shared via google classroom in grades 3-5, while second grade students are learning the processes by which students are expected to use technology as the basis to create, collaborate, share, and prove learning rather than an extraneous tool to glamorize it. -
School Library Dips its Toes into Tech
The first online books are purchased. Students are able to 'check them out' with their student ID and can read them from their Chrombooks or at home on their personal devices. -
Library and Tech Meet
More and more online books are purchased. There is a plan to replace only certain titles and purchase new ones, but the cost becomes wasteful. The internet makes it such that the previous function of a library can be moved to the cloud, away from school. The concept of a 'central library' is considered, where any CUSD student may 'check out books.' -
School Library is Transformed
The Capri school library has noticeably fewer and fewer books. They are limited to only several shelves. While the number of tangible books have declined dramatically, every student now has access to the Campbell Union School District online catalog. This is a partnership with CUSD and the Santa Clara County Public Library System. The added space has lent itself to the library becoming a location for webinars, socratic seminars, large Lit Circles, and the like.
