  • The Traffic Light

    The Traffic Light
The traffic light was created in 1914. However, the first traffic light in Canada was installed in 1925. The first traffic light was put up in Cleveland, USA. The traffic light was made to speed up traffic and to prevent hitting other vehicles and pedestrians at intersections. (Jordan Chittley, 2018).

As grenades advanced they became more effective and caused larger explosions. (Salamander Foundation, 2017)

The first tank was made in 1915 and it was a prototype named Little Willie. Tanks were first created because the british army wanted to create a machine that could dominate the trenches and destroy enemies defence. Tanks were used throughout WW1 and kept progressing their models to make them ever better. (History.com editors, 2019).
  • Creation of Steel Helmets

    Creation of Steel Helmets
Steel helmets were made in 1915. They were designed by John L. Brodie from Britain. The helmets purpose was to protect the soldiers from head injuries caused by explosive artillery. These types of helmets were used all throughout WW1. Canada and the European Empire all used the same model of helmet called the Brodie helmet. (Nathan Watanabe, 2016).

  • Gas Warfare

    Gas Warfare
Gas warfare was first used by the Germans in The Battle Of Ypres in 1915. Some of the gasses they used in WW2 are chlorine, mustard and phosgene gas. (Thomas I. Faith, 2016)
  • Gas Masks

    Gas Masks
Gas masks were made in 1915. They were made as a result of the poisonous gas that the Germans used in the Battle Of Ypres. Gas masks cover your entire face and prevent you from inhaling poisonous gas that would kill you. Gas masks are air tight made of rubber plastic and an air purifying filter. ( Kat Eschner, 2017).

    The Browning M2
The Browning M2 is a type of rifle that was made in 1921 by the United States. It was designed in 1918 at the end of WW1 and it was planned to be used against tanks and aircrafts because it was powerful enough to pierce the metal of armoured machines. (Dolf Goldsmith, 2015).
  • Insulin

    Insulin
Insulin was made in 1921 by Dr. Frederick G. Banting. He was born in Ontario and made his discovery at The University of Toronto. Insulin was made for people with a disease called diabetes and the invention of insulin has prevented many deaths. Insulin is injected into you and it regulates blood sugar. (Adam Felman, 2018).
