  • World's First iPad

    World's First iPad
OK, so it's not the world's first tablet computer, but in many ways, it might as well be. Apple's iPad hit the market in April and there's little doubt it has bulldozed a new track in personal computing. We loved it, it sold 300,000 units on the first day and spurred almost every device manufacturer in the world into the tablet space. We think it's fair to say that the iPad has created its own world first.
  • Window Phone 8

    Window Phone 8
With its second event in less than a week, Microsoft made Windows Phone 8 official. The exhilaration was short-lived for those who had already jumped on the WP bandwagon, as the company announced that current handsets wouldn't see the new OS. This also proved that the early rumblings about upgrades were in fact false.
  • Samsung Gear VR

Samsung’s $200 Gear VR headset uses the company’s Galaxy Note 4 phablet as its brains and display to create believable, wire-free virtual reality. The software inside is actually powered by Oculus, and the headset itself outshines the Rift in some ways. Sure, the need for a Note inherently limits Gear VR’s potential audience, but you can buy it today—while the launch of the consumer version of Oculus Rift is still months off.
  • Airpods and iPhone 7

The higher-end Xbox Series X and lower-end Xbox Series S models were released on November 10, 2020, as the fourth-generation Xbox, succeeding the Xbox One. Along with Sony's PlayStation 5, released the same month, the Xbox Series X/S consoles are part of the ninth generation of video game consoles.
