    1603- Queen Elizabeth dies
    Many believe that Queen Elizabeth died from blood poisoning due to her lead makeup and others believe that she died from a form of cancer or phenomena. James I then took over as King of England.
  • Thirty Years War

    Thirty Years War
    This war ended with the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648. The main conflicts of the war was a struggle over the political and religious order within the empire. The thirty year was fought in Europe, Germany, and Central Europe.
  • Mayflower brings Pilgrims to North America

    Mayflower brings Pilgrims to North America
    The mayflower finally set sail after having to turn around twice due to leaks. It brought over 102 people including men, women, and children. Only one person died on the voyage which they believed was his punishment from God. The first winter was very hard and there were many lives lost. The Mayflower left and went back to England on April 5, 1621, after there were finally enough houses for everyone to live on land.

    The Powhatan War was a struggle between the Powhatan Indians and the English Settlers. It resulted in the distruction of the Indian power. The causes for the Powhattan War was due to the rumors that the Powhatan had ordered to have the lost colonists killed in order to impress upon the Jamestown settlers.

    The Fall of China's Ming Dynasty
    There was many causes that led to the fall of the ming dynasty such as corruption and misappropriation of funds, natural disasters, rise of the Manchus. After the fall of the ming dynasty it became the Qing Dynasty.

    The reason for this war was because of swedish king Charles's desire to aggrandize more Baltic Territories. The swedish invaded Poland, then Russia, Denmark, and Austria declared war on Sweden.
  • King Philips War

    King Philips War
    This was one of the bloodiest conflicts to occur in US history. This war is also known as the great Narragansett war. The cause of this was was due to the execution of three of Philips warriors who had been found guilty of murdering John Sassamon. It was fought in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and costal Maine.The indians had about 150 casualties and the militia had about 70 dead and 150 wounded on December 19.

    The Great Turkish Wars were a series of conflicts between the Ottoman Empire and the European powers. The war was a defeat for the Ottoman Empire which lost large amounts of territory. This was also a very significant war because it marked the first time Russia was involved with a European alliance.

    King Williams war was an extension of the War of the Grand Alliance. In this war, Canadian and New England colonists divided in support of their mother countries. The war ended with the treaty of Rijswijk. Since the Indians participated in the war it is known as one of the first French and Indian Wars.

    The salem witch trails occurred in colonial Massachusetts from 1692- 1693. The first convicted "witch" was Bridget Bishop and she ended up being hung. Betty Parris and Abigail Williams were two womens accusing others of being slaves. There was 25 deaths, 19 executed from hanging, 5 died in jail, and one was crushed to death with stones.

    The second northern war happened because of the military conflict to challenge Sweden's supremacy in the baltic area. The peace settlements, Treaty of Nystad, ceded Estonia, Livonia, and other territories to Russia. In the end, Sweden won the second northern war.

    San Antonio was founded because of a Spanish exploration from Mexico.

    This war took place over a span of nine years. The causes of the war was because France and Great Britain were determined to control cononial territory of North America. The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in February 1763. The british controlled canada from france and florida from Spain. France kept its west indian sugar islands and gave Louisiana to Spain.

    The industrial revolution was a period of scientific and technological development. Things like the spinning Jenny and steam power were key things throughout the revolution. The effects of the industrial revolution were both good and bad. Some of the bad effects are unsafe working conditions and environmental pollution. The good things that came from the industrial revolution were the social, economic, and cultural impact it had that lay the foundation for today's modern society.

    The Boston Tea Party happened because of the increased and unfair taxation on tea products from Britain. One night American colonists dressed up and boarded the ships carrying the tea and dumped 342 chests of tea into the water. The colonists didn't harm any passengers or crew members on the ships. This was the first major act of rebellion against the British rule of the colonies.

    American Revolution
    Some of the main causes of the American Revolution were the seven years' war, the Boston massacre, and the Boston Tea Party. The British started the revolution when they wore their red coats on the "shot heard around the world". John Adams was a very important person during this time. At the end of the revolution, Great Britain's 13 Americans colonies had finally won their independence.

    The purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to rally the troops, win foreign allies, and announce the creation of a new country. This happened after the colonies won their independence from Great Britain. There were 56 signers on the Declaration of Independence such as Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and James Madison jr.

    This was also called the Revolution of 1789. The revolution happened as a result fo the bourgeoisie gaining financial power but not political power. The monarchy was no longer viewed as ordained when the king sought to increase the tax burden on the poor and expand it to everyone else who had previously been exempt.

    George Washington was the first president of the United States, an American military officer, statesman, and founding father. He is the only president to not represent a political party. During his presidency the first naturalization law was passed, the capitial was moved from New York City to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the national bank was created, and he was reelected for president in 1792.

    John Adams is the second president of the United States. He was also a founding father, American statesman, diplomat, and writer. He was a part of the Federalist Party. He was well known for his extreme political independence, brilliant mind, and passionate patriotism. During his presidency he was a part of the XYZ Affair, he also declared the eleventh amendment, and passed the alien act in 1798.

    Thomas Jefferson was on the Democratic Party and the third president of the United States. He was known as the silent member of congress. He ran for two terms. He was a founding father as well as the principal author of the declaration of independence.
  • War of the Oranges

    War of the Oranges
    This was a brief conflict in which France and Spain fought Portugal. The causes of this war was due to the fact that Portugal refused to accept Napoleans demands to become a political and economic extenison of France. This was disastrous for Portugal. Following The victory, Maduel de Godoy picked oranges in nearby Elvas and sent them back to the Queen of Spain with a message that he would proceed to Lisbon. This is why it is known as the War of the Oranges.

    President Thomas Jefferson tasked Lewis with exploring the lands west of the Mississippi river. Lewis chose his co-leader to be William Clark. It was approximately an 8,000-mile journey that was a success because it provided new Information about the uncharted parts of America.

    The americans delcared war against Britain. The Americans wanted to go to war because the British were getting involved in Americans trade and causing problems. They also wanted to expand into Canada and other places but Britain didn't want them to.
  • War of Greek Independence

    This rebellion was one with the Greeks in the Ottoman Empire whichr esulted in an independent kingdom of Greece. It started when Alexander Ypsilantis created a small force of troops. Within a year the troops gained control of Peloponnese and in Janurary of 1822 they delcared Greek Independence. The Turks tried to invade three times which were all unsuccessful. In the mid-1832 the Turkish Sultan had recognized greek independence through the treaty of Constantinople in July 1832.

    John Tyler was elected as the tenth president of the United States of America on April 4, 1841. He was placed in office after President William Henry Harrison died. He was on the Independent political party. Tyler vetoed bills to create national banks. Before Tyler left office he signed a bill annexing Texas and another on his last day of presidency which made Florida the 27th state.

    South Carolina First State to Succeed from the Union
    South Carolina succeded from the Union on December 20, 1860. They were the first state to secede followed by Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisana, and Texas. They wanted to secede because the Republican, Abraham Lincoln, had been elected to office and the republicans wanted to stop slavery from spreading to western territories.

    Abraham Lincoln Assassination
    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in the Peterson House in Washington DC on April 4, 1865. He was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth because Booth believed that Lincoln was determined to overthrow the constitution and to destroy the south.

    There are many other names for this war such as the "Austro-Prussian War". This war was fought between Prussia and Austria, Bavaria, Saxony, and Hanover. This war was fought in Italy, Germany, Bohemia, and the Adriatic Sea due to a dispute over the administration of Schleswig and Holstein.

    Fourteenth Amendment to Constitution
    The fourteenth amendment was added to the constitution which granted citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States. It delclared that states may not deny any person "life, liberty, or property".
