An anti slavery novel by Harriet Stowe that heped lay the ground work for the Civil War. Uncle Tom is a character in the book; the novel talks about the reality of slavery. -
Kansas- Nebraska Act
The Kansas - Nebraska was a territory that wanted to become states ,but they couldnt decide if it was going to be a free or a slave state. It was decided by "popular Soverienty" ,which means the people living there vote. -
Bleeding Kansas

John Brown's raid on the US arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia, happened in order to get weapons for arming a slave uprising in Virginia. -
