In 1644 officials of the Ming government used The Manchu's as means of defense to put down rebellions. The Manchu's took advantage of their vulnerability and captured their capital at Beijing. This ended the Ming dynasty -
1661- Rise of Kangxi
Kangxi ruled from 1661-1722, and was a Confucian scholar. He supported the arts and strived to improve the empire. He succeeded in expanding the empire into Mongolia in Central Asia and conquered Taiwan. -
1735-1796 Rise of Qianlong
Qianlong was the successor of Kangxi. He added Vietnam, Burma, and Nepal to the provinces of China.
