The analysis of history goes back to the time when the hardened Chancas, persecuted by the Incas, make the current city of Lamas, their new habitat and form an extensive linguistic and cultural family known as: Motilones Lamistas, it was they who their search for food went down to the valley of Tarapoto, where the warriors and savages of Cumbazas lived dedicated to hunting and fishing between the river Cumbaza and the Quebrada del Choclito. -

It is one of the main tourist and commercial centers of the Peruvian Amazon. It currently has a population of 149,875 being the most populated city in the department of San Martín, the twentieth in Peru and the third largest and most populated Amazon city after Pucallpa and Iquitos.3 -
My experience
It is a very beautiful city, but the weather is a bit strange since it rained every day except the last one. It was a very nice experience as we helped and shared with children from a school. I liked the places they visited, the blue lagoon, the Ahuasiyacu waterfalls, the museum ... etc.
