Hepburn Act
The Hepburn Act gave the federal government the authority to set maximum rail shipping rates. -
The Meat Inspection Act
It required the department of agriculture to inspect packaged meat. This was passed in response to the muckraker accounts of unsanitary meatpacking plants. -
The Pure Food and Drug Act
It established a new agency that would test and approve drugs before they went on the market. -
Antiquities Act
This gave the president the permission to create national monuments to protect significant natural, cultural, or scientific features. -
