Gather Information, Create Support, Implement in Wayne Co.
Gathering information and track progress on social networking sites to create support. We will work with Michigan to implement the reforms to create evidence based research to test the effectiveness of the reform. -

Gain Support, Create Coalition, Identify Spokespersons
June – July: Gain local support through the creation of a coalition and a task force. At this point we will also be contacting potential spokespeople who can be the face of the campaign personifying how these reforms will be beneficial. -

National Campaign Recognition, Media Push, Lobbyists
Work toward national campaign recognition. Task force will contact national organizations and post op/ed pieces in the organizations’ media contacts, as well as in local newspapers and national women’s magazines. Potential national resources include: Planned Parenthood; NASW; NOW; Advocates for Youth; ACLU; and Cosmopolitan; Women’s Day; Redbook; or Self magazines. Active Lobbying, Letter Writing, On-line Eductional Forum
Gain support from politicians, especially those who supported S. 1005 in the 112th Congress. This will be done through letter writing, working lobbyist groups and presentation of findings from our previous evidence based research. During this period as well, the task force will joined by the coalition and continue their July-October work in gaining national support. -

Reintroduce the Bill into Congress
The bill is reintroduced into the 113th Congress. We will set up informational meetings on The Hill and request testifying before subcommittees that are reviewing the bill. -

We will maintain pressure on the legislature.
