Jalaluddin Khilji was the first sultan of the Khilji dynasty. He was a wise ruler and he defeated the mongols and was able to drove them back. After his 6 years of of rule his nephew Alauddin Khilji murdered him and took the throne. He was a strict ruler, the taxes were fixed in his kingdom. He encouraged learning.
