Some say that Stubbs was the write-in winner of the local mayoral election, with voters preferring this feline to the human options. Talkeetna's leadership is actually a Community Council, as it is unincorporated. The Matunuska-Susitna Bourough, which Talkeetna lies within, does have a mayor. -
