In 2001 Apple launched a public music database, which allowed for electronic downloads for music that was being produced. This led to the surge of electronic music sharing. -
ipod
Shortly after itunes was released, Apple released the first ipod classic. This was a portable music playing device that could last up to ten hours of playing music. -
Blu-ray
The Blu-ray player was released as an upgrade from DVD. The blu-ray player reads discs with a blue laser instead of a red laser used in DVD. This allows for higher density reading, which results in better picture quality. -
Facebook
Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Facebook allowed for the birth or social media. -
Twitter
Twitter became a branch of the social media surge, by posting short thoughts and comments of everyday life for everyone to see. -
iphone
the iphone was relased, which could surf the web, make phone calls, take pictures, and stream music. This was a pretty small invention ;). -
Square
The square revolutionized social payment options. This device was a tiny magnetic reader that attached to a smartphone and could read credit cards. -
Xbox 1
The Xbox One was the newest gaming system of 2013 and was paired with Kinect. This allowed for motion detection and interactive game play. -
3D Printing
3D printing has been around for a few years, but not until this year are we understanding the possibilities of this technology. The University of Tennessee actualy has a 3D printing lab, named the fablab.
