  • British Women's Auxilary Army Corps is offically established

    British Women's Auxilary Army Corps is offically established
    British Army Council Instruction Number 1069 formly establishes the British Auxulary Army Corps, otherwise known as WAAC. This allowed female volunteers to serve alongside men counterparts during World War I. Womens started leaving factories to provide more support. By the end of the war 80,000 women had served in three womens forces and were considered to have made a greta contribution.

    Future President Jimmy Crater gets married to his wife Eleanor Rosalynn Smith at the Plains Methodist Church in Plains, Georgia. When the couple met, she was 18 and working in a hair salon. He was 21 and a recent graduate of the Annapolis Naval Academy.

    The year of 1996, started right off with big news of a mosterous blizzard. Snow began falling in Washington, DC and continued up the easter seaboard. The blizzard took 154 victums and casued over $1 billion in damage. A record of 20 inches fell in one day in Virginia. With the snow fall and gust of winds reaching up to 50 miles per hour snow drifts piled up makingtraveling impossible. Even the Federal Goverment was granted snow days by Bill Clinton.
