Headright System
Helped people gain land, but it was very expensive because it was land. 1777 Georgia passed it's first Headright System law. In Georgia, It gave a lot of people land. It had created Land Lotteries so they can earn land. -
University Of Georgia
It's the first college built in Georgia. It was incorporated on February 20, 1785. During the Civil War it closed during October 1863 and reopened January 1866. It affected Georgia from making people go to college there. People also moved to Georgia for the college. -
Louisville
Former capital of Georgia. There's noticable jurists, educators, and business people. Affected Georgia by turning it into a county and people live there. -
Cotton Gin
Machine that quickly separates the cotton from the seeds. In Gerogia, It added more slaves to work on the cotton. It was very useful for the Americans though. -
Yazoo Land Fraud
Made by the governors and legislature. Lands have been sold by the state. It made the people in Georgia mad, but afterwards they got their money back. -
Land Lotteries
A lottery that gives you land. They buy a ticket and if the person wins then they get the land. They give you any size, though. In Georgia, It made people get the land that they wanted. -
Railroads
Began in 1830s. Mostly in the southern statesm and it helped people get across to far places. In Georgia, It was convinent, but it created a lot of pollution. -
Baptist/Methodist.
One or two baptists and methodists arrived in Savannah as others followed. Churches became popular and other buildings were built. People came here to go to the churches; it was their religion.
