Advances in Europe such as the reniassance, helped fund many voyages. The european kingdom sent explorers out to sea to find ways to trade between African and Asia. -

Columbus exploration
Spain sponsored a voyage led by Christopher columbus in 1492. He was hoping to reach East asia, but instead sailed right into America.Columbus explored many carribean islands still thinking he was in the Indies. He called the Native americans there "indians" and converted them to christianity, took their land and enslaved them. -

Conquistadors conquests
Conquistadors overpowered and conquered many villages and empires in South America and the Carribean. Important conquistadors that conquered and expolred land includes; hernando cortes, Juan Ponce de Leon, Hernando de Soto and Francisco Coronado. -

Columbian exchange
Conquistadors killed thousands of Indians from diseases they brought over to the Americas. This made it easier for them to take over the land. They lessened the Indian slaves to make up for the number of Indian they lost from disease. Conquistadors also brought many African Americans to America to replensih the popultion. The Europeans also introduced new animals, crops and ideas.
