    -Greek and latin literature were studied.
    -Teachers read the work and students took notes and memorized.
    -The goal was to produce effective speakers.

    -The goal of education was to prepare the child for adult activities as a citizen, soldier and citizen trained in the art of peace and war.
    -Education was especially for boys.

    -Most students were members of the clergy.
    -Students learned the rudiments of Mathematics.
