Year 1000- Vikings
Leif Ericson was leading the vikings when they landed on a place now called America in the year 1000. They were the first outlanders to discover the land but they were unable to permanently stay because of rising conflict between them and the Englishmen. They left, paving they road for later explorers. -
Year 1584- 1590: The Lost Colony (Roanoke)
Roanoke was discovered by Sir Walter Raleigh. It is an island in North America. The first voyage was lead by Sir Walter Raleigh. He outsmarted the native to make them serve him. He told them he would take away the moon during an eclipse. Soon they started working together. Sir Walter Raleigh was leaving to go on a second voyage back to England to get supplies but when he came back everyone was gone and their only clue was the word "Croatians" carved into a tree. -
Year 1492- Christopher Colombus
Christopher Columbus was a famous explorer known for discovering America. He was setting off with three ships; the Nina, Pinta, And the Santa Maria. He first thought he discovered India so he named the people there Indians. The route he took would later be called the Columbian Exchange, a trade route for the old and new world. -
15th Century Exploring
Marco Polo was was "the first" modern traveler. He traveled to Asia from 1271 to 1295. He then returned to his home of Venice, Italy to tell them of the vast resources found on the land. The path he followed would later be called the "Silk Road". He inspired a very well known traveler from later on. -

The Boston Massacre
when was it- March 5, 1770
what happened- Bostonian kids were throwing snowballs at British guards and the British guards shot and killed 5 Bostonian's. One of the people killed who was killed was Crispus Attucks. He was known as a hero of the American Revolution. The colonies decided to fight back against Britain due to what happened in Boston. -

Americans were mad because of tea tax. They dressed as Indians and climbed on the ship. They threw all of the tea off of the ships into the harbor.

April 18, 1775- The Shot Heard Around the World
The British came to America to take away militia weapons. The Americans tried to stall them so the others could hide the weapons. When the British and American confronted each other one side shot but it is a mystery as to who. This was the start of the American Revolution. -
April 19, 1775- Battle of Concord and Lexington
The first battle fought in the American Revolution. The Americans won. -
Sept. 19, 1777- Battle of Saratoga
This battle was important because it showed the French that the Americans could actually win the revolution against the British.This resulted in the support of the French for the Americans in this war. -
Battle of Yorktown
Last battle fought in the American Revolution. The Americans won which resulted in winning the American Revolution. -
November 15, 1777- Articles of Confederation
The articles told us how to run our Government. The biggest issue with the articles was that there was only one branch governing the entire body. No balance of powers.
