    The proclamation prevented the colonists from crossing the Appalachian. They disliked this and so broke it. This rose tensions, gave colonists more taxes, and started to give the colonists a feeling of a lack of representation.

    The Sons of Liberty go on a transport boat full of tea and toss it off. This caused the British to try to exert control with even more punishments and proved the colonists to be truly angry and not as fearful of the British as they might have thought.

    4 laws were put in place, Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Act, Administration of Justice Act and the Quartering Act. These really enforced British control along with raising the tension of the colonists terribly high.

  • Green Mountain Boys/Ticonderoga

    The Green Mountain Boys (led by Ethan Allen) sent troopers over to Fort Ticonderoga where they seized the fort without fighting because the guard was asleep and the rest weren't there. This gave a huge colonist morale boost, ashamed the British and gave the Green Mountain Boys a very strategic fort.

    Colonists fight Brits at Bunker and Breeds hill, losing but ultimately winning. This led the Colonists to feel more strong and to kill many many redcoats.

    Washington makes a surprise attack on the Hessians by crossing the Delaware and attacking them on Christmas (a ceasefire date). These battles helped the colonists believe in Washington's control and strategy, helping the army stay together for the future.

    Southern Campaign/Battle in Charleston

    The British started attacking in the Southern colonies which ended with Nathaniel Greene leading it to a victory, though three major battles were won by the British. One battle in this campaign included Charleston where colonists were bombarded by the British navy until surrender. This campaign helped even the score between countries, but also caused the southern colonies to dislike the British and join America.

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    Washington and French forces sieged Yorktown and defeated General Cornwallis. This led to the British signing the Treaty of Paris, thus being the final battle in the American Revolution and the battle that ended the war.
