    Nicolaus Copernicus

    Nicolaus Copernicus
Nicolaus was known for observing the "geocentric" which led to many of his findings. One of those many findings is that the earth is in fact round and not flat. He proved numerous people wrong, although there are some people still thinking that the earth is flat. Inventions or discoveries we wouldn't know today without him are:
    - heliocentric theory
    - (Wrong Theory; proven wrong years later.) All planets orbit the earth
  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler
Johannes Kepler was known for his 3 laws of planetary motion. One of these famous laws was; The orbit of every planet is an ellipse with the sun at a focus.
inventions/ discoveries we wouldn't have today without his contribution are:
    - The Kepler Telescope
    - 104 new planets have been discovered
    - Other galaxies
  • Francis Bacon

     Francis Bacon
Francis Bacon was known for creating scientific method. Without Scientific Method, we wouldn't have made many of the discoveries we have made this century. Inventions/ Discoveries:
    - Bendy Straw
    - Vaccines
    - Issac Newton used it to deduce propositions from phenomena
  • Rene Descartes

    Rene Descartes
Rene Descartes was known for doubting things until proven true. He is responsible for the coordinate plane and x,y,z variables.
    Inventions/Discoveries:
    - Descartes Theory
    - Graphs
    - Line Chart
  • Galileo Gallei

    Galileo Gallei
Galileo was known for using the telescope for study purposes in 1608. The Telescope helped make many discoveries outside of earth.
    Inventions/Discoveries:
    - Jupiter has multiple moons
    - Craters and mountains on the Moon.
    - The first pendulum clock.
  • Antonie van Leeuwenhoek

    Antonie van Leeuwenhoek
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek was known for creating a microscope. If he didn't come up with the microscope we wouldn't have known about microorganisms or about illnesses.
    Inventions/Discoveries:
    - Vaccines
    - COVID-19
    - Spanish Flu
  • Isaac Newton

    Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was known for “Newton's laws of motion” and his discovery of “Gravity.” If we didn't know about gravity, then we probably wouldn't know how we use an equal and opposite reaction when we jump.
    Inventions/ Discoveries:
    - Rollercoaster
    - Trampoline
    - Orbital Cannon
