Baseball in America
Baseball was played in america in the late 1700's but no real teams were formed till 1833 when the Olympic Baseball Club of Philadelphia. The first team to play by Modern rules was the New York Knickerbockers, they became a team September 23, 1845. And then in 1876 the MLB became a thing. -
Soccer in America
Soccer first was played in america in the early 1600's by Native Americans and was played in the 1800's by many american colleges but the rules were loose and not set in stone. In 1862 The Oneidas of Boston became a thing which was the first organized soccer club in the United States And then in 1884 The American Football Association was organized in Newark, New Jersey. -
Football in America
The first football game was played in 1869 between two colleges (Rutgers and Princeton). And then on October 19, 1873 Rutgers and Princeton made some rules for all the teams to follow, and then in 1920 the NFL was created. -
Rugby in America
Rugby came to the US in the late 1850's when sophomores and freshman at Harvard University played but the Harvard varsity interscholastic rugby team was not founded until December 6, 1872. The first game of rugby using rugby union code rules was played May 14, 1874 between Harvard University and McGill University. -

Basketball was invented in 1891 by James Naismith in Springfield, Massachusetts. The game of basketball was originally played with a soccer ball and a peach basket. The first public game of basketball was played March 11, 1892 in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1946 the NBA was established. -

Hockey was originally played in Canada, the first game of this precursor to hockey that was played in the US was played on November 17, 1883. But the first known formal game of ice hockey was played in 1893 between Yale University and Johns Hopkins University. Then on November 26, 1917 the NHL was founded in Montreal, Canada. -

Volleyball was created in 1895 by William G. Morgan in the U.S. this game was a combination of baseball, basketball, tennis and handball. -
Disc Golf in America
Disc golf started in the 1960's. Students at Rice University in Houston, Texas held tournaments as early as 1964 using trees as targets. Players in Pendleton King Park in Augusta, Georgia were using 50-gallon barrel trash cans designated as targets. In 1976 the PDGA was established. -
MMA in America
The first MMA type thing that took place on a global stage was Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki which took place in japan in 1976, sold at least two-million pay-per-view. This event had mixed reactions from people. In 1979 the earliest example of a modern MMA contest happened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. -
Chess boxing in America
Chess boxing became a professional sport in the United States in 2009 when a Chess boxing club had opened in Los Angeles. A year later, a Chess boxing club opened in New York.
