The Affect Of Spain's Decision
Since Spain has granted the Run away slaves freedom, hundreds of slaves from Georgia and the Carolinas escape to Florida. -
Fort Mose
Francisco Mendez was an escaped slave from the Carolinas. He has agreed to help defend Florida from the British in exchange for freedom. He establish Fort Mose, the first Free Black settlement that is just two miles north of St. Augustine. -
Spain Trades Florida To England
Since Spain has traded Florida, they, in return, got Havana and Cuba. They had lost those countries back during the Seven Year's War. As a result, large rice, and indigo plantaions ermerge along East Florida near St. John's River. Thousands of more slaves are imported from Africa to florida or other colonies.
