The 3ed flight in the Mercury project (Mercury Atlas 6) flown by John H Glen Jr in space craft friendship 7 lasted just under 5 hours and allowed the 1st American to go into orbit -
4th Mercury Project
Mercury Atlas 7 the 4th Mercury flight took place flown by Scott M Carpenter in space craft Aurora 7 and was just under 5 hours. -
5th Mercury flight
The 5th Mercury flight named Mercury Atlas 8 was flown in the Sigma 7 space craft by Walter M Schorra and was just under 9 and 1/4 hours and completed 6 orbits of the Earth. -
The 6th and final Mercury flight
The Mercury Atlas 9 flight flown by L Gordan Copper Jr in the space craft Faith 7. This flight lasted 34 hours and 1/4 minutes and tested that a man could survive a day in space and this flight made 22 orbits -

1st Gemin flight
The first flight of the Gemini series named Gemini lll nicknamed Molly Brown by Virgil l Grissom after his Mercury space ship that sank in the Pacific. The flight was flown by astronauts Virgil l Grissom and John W Young and lasted just under 5 hours and was the first two manned flight that made 6 orbits -
2nd Gemini flight
The Gemini lV flight took place from the 3rd to the 7th and was flown by James A. McDivitt, Edward H. White II. The fliight lasted almost 4 days 2 hours and had 22 minutes of EVA -
Gemini flight 3
The Gemini V flight took place from the 21st to the 29th and was flown by L. Gordon Cooper, Jr and, Charles Conrad, Jr. This flight lasted just under 8 days, was the first flight to use electric power and completed 120 orbits -
Gemini flight 4
The Gemini Vll launched on the 4th and landed on the 18th flown by Frank Borman, and James A. Lovell, Jr. the flight lasted 13 days 18 hours 35 minutes and 1 second. This flight was the first attempt to see if a human could survive up to two weeks in space -
Gemini flight five
The 5th Gemini flight started on the 15th ending on the 16th was flown by Walter M Schirra Jr. and Thomas P Stafford and lasted 1 day 1 hour 51 min and 24 seconds. -
Sixth Gemini flight
The sixth Gemini flight named Gemini Vlll was flown by Neil A Armstrong and David R Scott. The fligt lasted just over 10.5 hours and as a result of uncotrolable spinning the space craft had the first emergency landing in U.S. manned space craft histroy. -
7th Gemini flight
The 7th flight in the Gemini project was named Gemini lX-A. The flight took of on the 3rd and landed on the 6th. The voyage was flown by Thomas P Stafford and Eugene A Cernan. The flight was 3 hours away from being 4 days. The flight also set a record with two hours of EVA. This flight also compelted 43 orbits. -
8th Gemini flight
The 8th Gemini flight named Gemini X lasted from the 18th to the 21st and was flown by John W Young and Micheal Collins. The flight lasted 2 days 22 hours 46 minutes and 39 seconds. This flight also recorded 49 minutes of EVA and completed 43 orbits -
The 9th Gemini flight
The 9th flight in the Gemini series named Gemini Xl took place from the 12 to the 15, and was piolited by Charles Conrad Jr. and Richard F Gordan Jr. The flight broke a record for longest distants travled into space at 739.2 miles this flight also had 33 minutes of EVA and 44 orbits of Earth. -
The final Gemini fligth :(
The final flight in the Gemini program was from the 11th to the 15th and was flown by James A Lovell Jr. and Edwin E Aldrin Jr. This flight recored a new record of 5 hours of EVA. -
