In 1652 the dutch explorer Jan Van Riebeeck reached Table Bay.
From this point forward, until 1795 the dutch ruled over South Africa's cape town. -
In 1794, The Dutch republic was invaded by French troops. This made Great Britain wonder if it should invade south africa's Cape town. In 1795, a convoy of British soldiers landed in Cape town and captured it. The Dutch attempted multiple attacks to regain Cape town but never succeeded. The British kept Cape town until South Africa became and independent state.

In 1899, two South African states (The South African Republic and Orange Free state) Went to war against the British Reign that was controlling South Africa at that time. The goal of the war was to decrease British Influence in South Africa.
The first initial attacks were successful as the British were unprepaired for attacks. But later the South africans became overwhelmed by massive reinforcements by Great British. -
In 1910, four South African states signed an Unification and turning them into The Union of South Africa, which is the the predecessor for the current day Republic of South Africa.
