About 100 years later in the 1600 century the dutch and the English made beach cuts on the South African coast. They didn’t have intentions of building colonies but only to establish a trading station where ships on their way to India could stock up on meat, vegetables and milk products, among many other things. The local inhabitants didn’t want to let go of their resources. Therefore the dutch had to become farmers in South Africa to supply food for the ships.
