    British Sovereignty
    British gained full sovereignty over South Africa in the year 1815. They had been fighting the dutch for control up to this point. This sovereignty was recognised at the Congress of Vienna.     Anglo-Boer Wars
    The Boers refused to be annexed into Britain so a war broke out and the Boers initially won their independence. However, this was short lived as a second war came about and the British were more prepared.
