AIM came out for Microsoft computers as a messaging system where users could chat with others online. -

Myspace was created in 2003 by employees at the Internet Marketing Firm eUniverse. 11 months after myspace was created it had over 5 million users. -
Facebook's creation
Mark Zeckerburg created Facebook just as a platform for students at the university of Harvard. -
Facebook allowing other university's
Other universities were allowed to join Facebook and connect with other students. -
Youtube
The first Youtube video came out in 2005 by co owner Jawed Karim named "me at the zoo". -
Facebook lets the Public join
Facebook lets anyone over the age of 13 to join and also adds the News Feed point so everyones points gather to one place. -
The first Tweet
The first tweet was sent out saying "Just setting up my twttr". -
The birth on Instagram
Instagram was born as a social media Complex with photos that you follow friends and then could like and comment on their photos -
Facebook and twitter buy out
Facebooks deal with buying Instagram is final which sets Facebooks stock value at 740 million. Twitter buys the new video sharing app known as Vine. -
Facebook comes out with messenger
Facebook rolls out with a messenger app called poke. -
Whatsapp
Facebook bought out the app known as Whatsapp. An app used by millions now. -
Social Media sites are still growing
To this day Facebook has over 1.15 billion users. Twitter has over 215 million and Instagram at 150 million and that number is growing more and more everyday.
