ISIS & 2014 World Cup
In 2014, the jihadist terrorist group ISIS hijacked the hashtag #worldcup2014 in english and arabic so that instead of it taking you to photos and posts of the World Cup, it would take you to pro ISIS content. ISIS uses twitter and facebook to promote their agenda, take credit for any attacks, and show photos of what they can do. It is a very scary thing that social media can allow terrorists to use it in that way.
