The Royal Proclamation of 1763 recognized the rights of the First Nations -
War
Aboriginal peoples and Americans fought, 100 Aboriginals died and 250 Americans died. -
Treaty Medals
Canada gave medals to commemorate the Numbered Treaties. -
Indian Act
Aboriginal peoples rights were taken away. The lost the right to vote and the right to have festive activities. -
Residential Schools
Residential Schools removed Children from their families and they had to live in the schools. -
Fur Trade
First Nations secured their future and ended the Fur trade because all the buffalo were dying because of it. -
Railway
Canada wanted to build a railway to B.C to make Immigration from the east to the west easier. -
Language
Metis are now equal as French people are now equal with English Canadians. -
Treaties 4,6,10
Treaties 4,6,10 were about the First Nations proclaiming they're dedication and commitment to the recognition of there unique history. -
Constitution
The Canadian Constitution stated that the (FNMI) was treated like all Canadians from now on. -
First Nations
First Nations decline the government's attempt to change the Indian Act. -
Aboriginal Day
Aboriginal people made June 29th, Aboriginal Day.
