    The United States government desired to give fresh opportunities for returning veterans. Congress passed the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, popularly known as the G.I. Bill, to secure veterans' home and business loans. The G.I. Bill also gave financial assistance to soldiers who wanted to go to college. Veterans with college degrees eventually contributed to the creation of new industries and possibilities.

    An extension of the Truman Doctrine that advocated for the giving of resources and economic assistance to nations threatened by Communism. The Marshall Plan aided many European countries in their recovery from World War II's devastation. The Marshall Plan resulted in immediate economic gains. The plan aimed to aid Western European nations in their recovery while also persuading them to oppose communism.

    The competition between John F. Kennedy and Sputnik increased education, particularly in science, math, and technology. The "Space Race" rivalry advanced US technologies. This could then in turn be used further recover their economy.
