Slovenia was the first former communist state to adopt euro currency. The euro currency is a type of currency members of the European Union use. 1 euro equals 1.12 U.S. Dollar. -
EU Presidency
Slovenia was the first former communist state to assume the EU presidency. The presidency of the council of the European Union is responsible for the functioning of the council. The presidency is currently held by Romania. -
Flooding
Flooding was caused by heavy rains in three regions including the capital. This caused over €15 million in damages. It also killed three people.
