    On June 2, 2009, The Sims 3 was released and sold 1.4 million copies within its first week. The Sims 3 held many similarities to The Sims 2, but created an “open world” by removing the need for loading screens for sims to travel.

    The Sims 4 currently has 2 expansion packs, 2 game packs, and 6 stuff packs. The first expansion, The Sims 4: Get to Work, was released in March 2015. On April 19, 2016, The Sims released a video on Facebook announcing plans for a new game and stuff pack.
