The Amulet of Samarkand
The very first book I picked up to read; the very first book that started it all. -
Writing
I started writing a lot of fiction and shamelessly posted it online. -
Homecoming
"Homecoming" by Cynthia Voigt left me a lot of questions due to my inability to comprehend the story fully at the of 11 -
Library Books
I began bringing home literal piles of books from the library. I remember that we had moved into a new home and my room did not have any lights installed. I managed to read most of my books until there was no more natural light from the sun available to continue reading. -
Unknown Book
I read a book in the 8th grade. It was in the point of view of a man who survived the Holocaust as a young boy. He was separated from his mother and lived through a concentration camp. It was translated from his native language and it was a very heavy book for a thirteen year old. I still remember certain scenes from it, as clear as day. -
Frankenstein
I learned a lot about Mary Shelly and her work, "Frankenstein"... Frankenstein wasn't the name of the "monster" but the Dr who created him! I also fell in love with the Gothic literature style. -
In the Heart of the Sea
I surprised my own self for falling in love with a pretty dryly written book. I had to read it as part of summer homework for high school. -
Nanowrimo
The one and only Nanowrimo I ever managed to complete in the 3 years I actively participated. I ended up deleting 20k words the day after it ended in my fervent need to edit through everything I had written. -
Sherlock Holmes
I bought the whole collection of Sherlock Holmes in an attempt to rekindle my love of reading. I could never find the time to sit down and read the whole book but I managed to get through a few stories. This was definitely when I realized that I lost a lot of my literacy skills due to not using them. -
Lack of writing
I lamented the other month about my lack of reading and writing. I still have so many stories left in my head that I want to get out. There are books I want to reread and read anew.
