  • First Grade

    First Grade
I had a hard time reading so I would see a specialist who taught me one on one. I remember being taught how to read using the phonics approach. The first book I ever read by myself was "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". I felt really good about myself after reading the book. I have many copies of this book in my home now.
  • Fourth Grade

I won a prize for writing the best essay in my class.
  • High School

I was a straight A student in my 9th grade English class. My teacher transferred me to Honors English.
  • High School (9th grade)

I did not want to be in Honors English so I purposely did not do well and I was placed back into regular English
  • Senior Year

I barely passed English class due to my circumstances at the time.
  • College 2009

After taking the placement test, I placed in English 096. I did not care for the class so I dropped it.
  • English 121

While I did very well in this course, there were many times I did not fully understand an assignment.
