  • 1604 European Settlements

    1604 European Settlements
    Canada was first discovered by explorers Pierre de mont and Samuel de Champlain. He landed off the coast near southern Nova Scotia. Samuel named significant landmarks such as the islands of Mount Desert and the Isle of Haut. This was significant even to Canadian History because this is what started everything.   • Treaty of Portsmouth

    Treaty of Portsmouth
    The Treaty of Portsmouth was a treaty where Britain would no longer build on Wabanaki land and in return, the Wabanaki would stop their attacks on Britain also give back stolen land, etc. Shortly after Britain broke the treaty by building on Wabanaki land so between 1722-1725 there were a lot of battles between the Wabanaki and Britain. This affects Canada today because Britain broke the treaty which caused a chain reaction of treaties getting broken.
  • Treaty of Utrecht

    Treaty of Utrecht
    In 1714 the treaty of Utrecht was signed after the Spanish Succession which reached places in North America. This treaty was in favor of Britain by forcing up many of Frances's major parts to them. This was a significant event in Canada's history because this treaty would lead to many other events.   • Expulsion of the Acadians

    The removal of the Acadians happened when Charles Lawrence thought the Acadians were suspicious and were not neutral. You see when Britain tried to get Acadians to sign an oath to the Britain army they said no and they would be neutral. After Britain rounded up all of the Acadians and were deported the one of the 13 colonies some tried to flee some tried to fight but in the end Britain got their way but some were lucky enough to get to a French Territory. This was a act that needed to happen.
  • Seven Years War

    Seven Years War
    Even before the seven years war has even begun there was a lot of hostility between France and Britain after much fighting Britain started planning an attack on France thus beginning the war. The Seven Years' War was a significant part of Canadian history because the signing of the treaty of Paris in 1763 also forced France to cede to Britain. This also helped the Anglo-Americans because they no longer need the help of Britain. This also led to many significant events like the Loyalists.
  • Loyalists come to Canada

    Loyalists come to Canada
    The Loyalists were people who were loyal to Britain. A lot of loyalists came to Canada after the American Revolution. So many people were now in Canada, so they made upper Canada and New Brunswick. Also, the Loyalists had a significant influence on politics. Credits to Canadian Enclopydiea. This was important to Canadian history because the Loyalist had a huge influence on Canada and was really important in politics.
  • Canadian Confederation

    Canadian Confederation
    The Canadian Confederation is when the Colonies of Britain (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the Province of Canada) united to form the Dominion of Canada. In 1864 colonial politicians (now known as the Fathers of Confederation) met and negotiated the terms of Confederation at conferences in Charlottetown, Quebec City and London, England.
