    The S.S St.Louis is a ship that was filled with jewish immigrates. the jews just wanted to escape the harsh life they were used to ever since hitler came in power. sadly though Canada was not always Friendly. We were quite anti-semetic. when the boat pulled up we sent them right back to the harsh place they came from. this is significant because although we are a caring place that ecepts people now we werent always.

    Canada Declares War
    After Hitler invades poland Canada steps up and declares war on Germany. This proved that we really were becoming our own country. Althoughwe still fought under the British flag we ourselves declared war. we didn't do it because we were stilll loyal to Britain or that we had to.
  • Battle Of the Atlantic

    From the beginning to the end of the war there was an ongoing battle, the battle of the atlantic. The battle was fought Mainly on ships with help from air force. most of the ships that were attacked were ships that held resources for the army. They were attacked by German U-Boats(submarines).

    In Canada During the War the government imposed rationing. the Government thought that if people could only have a certain amount oof certain products each week, that we would be able to support the soldiers better. the soldiers would get more food then stale crackers and water. some of the foods that were rationed were; Canned food, dry stuff like sugar, meats.

    the Battle of Britain is the battle between Germany and Britain. it took place in the sky. Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium & France fall under Nazi controlso this battle determines whether or not we have a chance to win the war.

    In 1942, Canada started moving Japanese Canadians from their homes into internment camps. This was put in place after Pearl Harbour was attacked and when we lost lost the battle of Hong Kong. The Japanese Canadians then became Canada's #1 enemie. They Thought they were spys. this is significant because it shows canadians werent always welcoming.
  • The Dieppe Attack

    The Dieppe Attack
    Britain and Canada wanted to know the Germans defense strategies so they sent 5000 Canadian soldiers to Dieppe to open up a second battle field and gain information on their defense. Little did they know that they led those soldiers into slaughter. they did not have the element of surprise for the Germans were there waiting. the beach was filled with cannons, barbed wire, tanks, traps, and mines. over 1000 lives were lost.

    D-day
    D-Day was the turning point of the war. Britain, canada, and America work together to attack three different beaches in Normandy. in doing so they gained the elemoent of suprise, because the Germans were not expecting them to attack there they were expecting them to attack the Pas De Calais.
