Christopher Columbus sailed to America
Christopher Columbus was the first person to set sail across the world; he was trying to get to Asia by sea and discovered the Americas. If it wasn't for this, our history would have been delayed or Britain would not have been the first to migrate to the Americas, thus changing our history. -

Columbian Exchange
The Columbian Exchange started when Christopher Columbus set sail. This was a good thing because it allowed the world to share goods with each other which is now very important. -
Jamestown, Virginia
Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement and kick-started all future settlement in North America which led to everything else in US History. -

Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts is where the pilgrims settled. After settling, the pilgrims had feasts where they gave thanks to God for their crops. Thanksgiving is now a regular holiday. -

French and Indian War
The war between the British and the French that ended in a treaty. The treaty gave the British most of the French-claimed land in North America; the Britsh began to tax the colonists to pay for the war which led to all other problems between the colonists and the British. -

The Stamp Act of 1765 was a tax the British Parliament tried to inforce on colonists. This helped Britain make money even though they weren't supporting their colonies, only controlling them. -
