The Santa Fe Expedition
President of Texas, Mirabeau Lamar wanted to increase trade with New Mexico and sent a group of men. Results were disastrous and were taken prisoners by the Mexican army, the men were late released by U.S intervention. -
United States-Mexican War
President James K. Polk wanted to expand the U.S territory across the U.S Pacific Ocean, Mexico was located in the Southwest and resulting of a war to occur. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended as a result. -
Widespread European Revolution
There were wars between France, Germany, Italy, and the Austrian Empire which ended in repression as well as the monarchy suppression and wanting liberation. -
Slavery abolished in the West
It was an ongoing and lengthy process during 1807- 1888 for Parliament to pass the Abolition of the Slave Trade. Therefore, Britain could no longer trade and enslave people from Africa.
