    On the 7th of december 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbour. 4 US naval ships, 3 carries and 3 destroyers were all sunk,. This had a huge impact on the USA, as 2402 men were killed, 1282 men were wounded. This was a significant event, because the consequence of this attack by the Japanese, was that the USA declared war, which also included the rest of the allies.

This was a significant event because Singapore was a major British military base in South-east Asia. Around 80,000 British, Austrailian and Indian troops became prisinor of war. Winston Churchhill called to loss of Singapore the "worst disaster" and "largest capitulation" in British history.

    The Japanses attack on Darwin is a significant event because it is the biggest attack that has been launched on Australia. There were around 100 air raids on Darwin during the following year. They targeted Darwin because of the air base and naval port located there. This was also significant becasue around 300 lives were lost.

    On the 6th of August 1945, the United States of America, dropped atomic bombs on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. Around 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki were killed within the first 20-4 months, with around half being killed on the first day. This was an extremely important event, as it led to the Japanese surrendering. This also led to the end of World War II.
