Microsoft Windows 3.0
Microsoft released Windows 3.0 in May of 1990. It was created by David Weise and Murray Sargent. This Windows version contained three applications: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. While many versions of Windows has come out since then, 3.0 was the one that really kickstarted it's success. -
Sony PlayStation
Created by Ken Kutaragi, the original PlayStation was the first console of any kind to ship over a 100 million units in less than a decade. It's success didn't stop there, however, with 4 more versions following the original, all doing extremely well for what it was. -
Wiki
Wiki began in 1995, and it was created by Ward Cunningham. It was the first of many of it's kind. We still use many Wiki's today, such as Wikipedia, Wikihow, and Wiktionary. -
Amazon Alexa
First introduced in 1996, Alexa is a virtual assistant AI technology created and developed by Amazon. Alexa is available on many Amazon devices such as Amazon Fire, Echo Dot, and Echo Buds. She is capable of almost 90,000 functions which she can do just by talking to her. -
RIM Blackberry Phone
The Blackberry phone was created in 1999 as the first two-way pager. It was named such for the way the keyboard looked like the drupelets that compose the blackberry fruit. This invention was a huge step towards developing the software we use in our smartphones today.
