In the war they used camels. They used them as subsitutes for horses. They were used by servicemen. -

The affect of enemy artillery fire uon German ambluances was horrible. A bunch of animals died in this war. Animals had many uses and most suffered. -
Mustard
On April 1st 1919, Edward J. Bayon mustard out of the army in France and got a job with the American Graves Registration Service in Paris. He was married to a French women. Edward was selected as Chief Convoyer for the trip to Antwerp. -
Bras
When they passed Bras, There was not a house standing and had a cementary with 10,000 French soldiers. Antwerp was through a battle towns and leveled to the ground. They then stayed the night at Samogneux. -
Sedan
On April 17 1921, they arrived at Sedan where they had to wait to pick up pilots. There were soon to enter the Meuse river with its swirling currents, shoots, and many trestle bridges with a cent span just wide enough for the barges to pass through. -
Meuse
They left Montcy at 6:30 on April 19 1921 and were now passing through the Valley of Muese. They reached Dame de Muese at 4:30 PM where the river makes a long curve with a trestle bridge at its end halfway around the bend. The river was very strong and threatened to take anyhting in its path. -
Jemeppe
On April 24 1921, they took a coal at Jemeppe & didnt get away until 1:30pm. They arrived at Belgium at 8:30 and were ushered into Belgium immediately. They had a little celebration.
