I believe it is important for us to know about this event so we do the same and replant the trees we cut down. This event impacts me by giving me the ability to see these beautiful trees and continue to use them as a resource. This event is important to know about because this is the reason why there are still trees in the state of Pennsylvania. -
Yellowstone Act
We should know about this event because it tells us why Yellowstone park was created. This event give us a beautiful park that we are able to view instead of destroy. We should learn about this event to know why we create National Parks. -
The Lacey Act
This act was created so that we would be able to have the animals inside Yellowstone. This event impact us by giving us the ability to see all the animals inside Yellowstone without the fear of them getting killed by hunters. You should know about this act because it allows the animals to live in peace and not be disturbed. -

This event should be known because it tells us about how the bison's were over hunted. The effects now reduces the hunting of bison which will hopefully help them reproduce. -

This act gave jobs to the unemployed during the Great Depression to protect the enviornment from erosion and other thing that would harm the enviornment. This event positivly helps our citizens today by allowing them to have jobs and also causes us to have beautiful areas that did not become harmed by erosion. -

This act was set to help preserve the bald eagle from being extinct. The event allows us to see our countries national symbol instead of the bald eagle going extinct. -
Establishment of Everglades National Park
This event created a land set aside for the public to view its beauties. Today we are still fortunate enough to view this amazing park. -

Clean Air Act
This act was created to clean the air from air pollutions in the great country of the U.S. The Clean Air Act has impacted us by giving us cleaner air then what we would have had without it. -
Water Quality Act
This act signed by President Johnson caused the United State of America to have cleaner water by strengthening pollution laws. If it was not for the law that was created, today we would have nasty lakes, oceans and rivers. -
The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act
This act that was passed by president Johnson was set to protect all rivers from pollution, commercialization, and development. Without this law that was created we would have polluted and crowded rivers all across our country. -
Cuyahoga River catches fire
This event was caused by the lack of attention payed to the pollution of this river in Cleveland. Even though this was a negative event, without events like these our country would ignore the pollution of waterways. -

Promised by Edward Cole, General Motors decided to create pollution free cars that were expected by the 1980s. Without these cars being created our country would continue to create cars that harm the enviornment by pollution the air. -

This act was created to stop endangered species from going extinct. The plan was enforced by limiting or completely stopping the hunting of these animals. Without this act today we would not have some of the animals we still have today. -

Created by the EPA, this acts purpose was to protect Americans from drinking contaminated water.This is still administed and keeps Americans from becoming sick or dying from polluted water. -
Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act
This act passed by congress gave over 100 million acres in Alaska to create parks, wildlife refuges, and wilderness areas throughout the state. Without this act we would not have the some of the beautiful parks in Alaska that we have today. -
The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act
This act was created to have a fund to clean uncontrolled or abandoned hazardous waste sites, it also helped pay for accidents, spills, and other emergency releases of pollutants or contaminants into the environment. On top of that it gave the EPA the ability to prosecute polluters. Without this fund we would not have the money to clean these areas that are destroyed by waste. -

James Hansen warns Congress of the effects of global warming and how the earth is getting hotter every year because of the greenhouse effect. Without this knowledge NASA gave us we would continue to pollute without the thought of the effects there would be in the future. -

Julia Butterfly Hill protested the destruction of a redwood by sitting on it for 735 days. Even though this might seem like a silly idea; without this devotion to the enviornment, many more trees would be cut down without the thought of harming the enviornment. -
New Air Quality Standards
Issued by the EPA the New Air Quality Standards were set to control soot, dust, and particles that are too small to see that are created by car exhaust, smokestacks, and coal-fired power plants. Without these standered our enviornment would be harmed by the little things we are not able to see. -
Concerts to raise awareness of climate change
Madonna, the Black Eyed Peas, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, and the Beastie Boys played a concert to raise the awareness of climate change. This big concert helped to raise the awareness of people across the world about the greenhouse effect. Even today many people remember the cause this concert represented and changed their ways of polluting.
