  • Ray Hears the Voice

    After all of the character descriptions and summaries Ray and his family are sitting at the kitchen table eating dinner. Then all of a sudden a voice of a man says "if you build it, they will come". The strange thing about this is that only Ray can hear it.
  • Can They Afford It?

    After hearing the voice twice more, Ray decides to build a baseball field. The problem with this is, the Kinsella's only have so much farm land and need most of it to make sure they can survive the year financially. After calculating how much profit they will lose, Annie informs Ray that he can build the field but they will be cutting it close financially.
  • Ray Goes To Chicago

    Ray leaves his family back in Iowa on a mission to find the famous author J. D. Salinger. After finding Salinger and Salinger realizing that Ray wasn't trying to rob his house, they work together to find out what the voice inside of Ray's head is actually telling him.
  • Ray and Salinger Go to White Sox Game

    Desperate to find out some answers Ray brings Salinger to a White Sox game. During the game Ray comes to a realization that it wasn't the voice that wanted Ray to build the baseball field it was himself that wanted him to build it. Also the baseball game made Salinger realize how much he used to love people and baseball.
  • Building the Field

    After returning home to Iowa with his new friend Salinger, Ray begins to build the baseball diamond on his property. During this process Ray has a lot of fun as he gets to spend some quality time with his family. Also Salinger has a good time soaking in all of the memories of him playing baseball as a child.
  • The Work Pays Off

    Once the field was finished Ray waited anxiously for anything to happen but nothing did. Afte 4 days of waiting Ray gave up and just wanted to throw with his daughter. When they went out to throw suddenly Shoeless Joe and his other teamates walked out of the cornfield and asked Ray if they could play some ball. Ray, who has been waiting for this moment couldn't say no and took a seat with his family and Salinger on the side.
  • Departure

    After the players had their fun it was time for them to go and when they left Salinger decided it was also his time to go. After all the players were gone tons of cars started to come into their driveway to play some baseball.
