Tokaido Shinkansen Project (1958-1964) : The purpose of this project is to create a high-speed train to connect the regional area to the Japanese capital city, Tokyo.
The project was extremely unique as Tokaido Shinkansen was the world’s firstest high-speed commercial train when the project was completed. The project was conducted by the Japanese national train company. Since Tokaido Shinkansen project was completed, the network got expanded to most of the city in Japan .
