  • Civilian Conservation Corps

    Civilian Conservation Corps
    It wwas a public relief program that went from 1933 (during the great depression) to 1942. It was a program, for unemployed, unmarried men from relief families. It provided money for them.
  • Agricultural Adjustment Act

    Agricultural Adjustment Act
    Reduced Agricultural production by paying farmers to not plant on part of their land, and kill off excess livestock. It was needed to reduce crop surplus, and raise the prices on the crops.
  • Federal Emergency Relief Act

    Federal Emergency Relief Act
    It was Roosevelt's first major initative to combat the Great Depression. It also gave economic aid. It helped the families in need and the Government had a budget of $500 million dollars.
  • Tennesse Valley Authority

    Tennesse Valley Authority
    TVA is a federally owned corporation that was created by the congessional charter. It was used to provide navigation, flood control, fertilizer manufacturing, economic development, and electricity generation.
  • Public Works Administration

    Public Works Administration
    A program that budgeted several billion dollars to be spent on public works. For example it made jobs availiabe so we had employment.
  • Glass-Steagall Act

    Glass-Steagall Act
    Refers to the four provisions of U.S. Banking Act. It limits commercial bank securities, activites, and affiliations.
  • Securities and Exchange Commission

    Securities and Exchange Commission
    This is an agency of the United States fedral government. It is held responsible for enforcing fedral security, and proposing securites rules.
  • Works Progress Administration

    Works Progress Administration
    It lasted until 1943. It had employed at least 8.5 million people with an average pay of $2.00 a day. It has built thousands of roads, bridges, schools, etc.
  • National Youth Adminisration

    National Youth Adminisration
    This operated from June 26th, 1935 to 1939. It mostly focused on providing education and work for americans ages 16-25.
  • Social Security Act

    Social Security Act
    Was made to adminster a national pension fund for retired persons. It was an unemlpyment insurance system. Was also made for dependent moms, children, and the physically disabled.
